In a split decision, the Supreme Court decided to toss key components of Arizona's self-imposed law to fight immigration. However, the court also approved the law's most controversial provision which will allow the state's authorities to check the immigration status of people they stop on the road.
Tennessee Congressman Chuck Fleischmann, R-District 3, said the federal government "dropped the ball' on immigration.
"It's unfortunate that our states are burdened with immigration," he said.
