I filed my year-end report with the Federal Elections Commission, and reported having $451,000 cash-on-hand – two and a half times more than his nearest opponent – and almost 300 individual donors.

Not only am I pleased to be proving once again that I am clearly the only candidate to have the resources to continue running a successful campaign and to get my message of less government out to the voters of the 3rd District, I am pleased that almost one-third of those who have donated to my campaign are ‘small donors’. Hard working people from all over East Tennessee have been donating their hard-earned money $25 and $50 at a time. It is in donations such as these that I see my grassroots support well established, and I know they will make the difference come Election Day.

The liberal leadership in Washington just doesn’t get it, and with the help of my district-wide support I look forward to going to Congress to bring a voice of common sense that represents everyday Americans. As a small business owner I understand what it means to sign both the front of the check and the back of the check; I know what it takes to balance a budget; and I know what it takes to create jobs through the private sector of this country. I look forward to taking the lessons I have learned from running a business with my wife for the last 23 years with me to Washington and putting a stop to out of control spending, and getting the government off the back of every American.
