Join With Us In Celebrating the 4th of July

There are few things that stir our nation's patriotism more than celebrating the 4th of July. Whether it be watching a parade and going or to a picnic with barbeques and fireworks, there’s a wonderful spirit that envelopes the time we spend with family and friends on the 4th.

Have you ever stopped and to think about what we are actually celebrating? We celebrate freedom – the freedom gained so many years ago through the bravery of our founding fathers.

When the 2nd Continental Congress met in a tiny hall in Philadelphia on July 1, 1776, those 56 brave men knew that they were risking everything that they valued in life – in fact – they were risking their lives. They were determined to escape the tyranny of the British and to become a free and sovereign nation.

As we celebrate this 4th of July, I hope you pause to remember the genius of our founding fathers. Please also remember the brave men and women of our military who are serving in far off lands to make sure we stay a free people.
