Thanks to God, to my family, and to the voters of Tennessee's 3rd Congressional District.
What a great night for all of us! A special thank you to my staff, who worked so hard to make this day possible. After celebrating our tremendous win, I spent much of this morning enjoying my family and offering a prayer of thanks to God. These special moments with family and God give me strength and clarity for the days ahead.
Thank you to all of my volunteers and supporters, who believed in me and put in many long hours to make our victory happen. I am forever indebted to you. To those of you who did not vote for me, I will continue to work as hard as I can to earn your trust, your support and your vote.
Over the last two years, I have traveled across the 3rd District and listened and learned from my constituents about the issues that concern you most. I know that the most important concern in our District is getting people back to work. Our friends and neighbors continue to suffer because of the economy. I believe that my real life experiences will help change the reckless spending habits of Washington and stop President Obama's liberal agenda.
I find all the motivation I’ll ever need when I look at my children, because I know that working together we will return the promise of the American dream to their generation and beyond.
I renew my commitment to you now – I will never forget who I work for. I will always seek your advice and counsel and when we win in November, I will continue to be your voice in Washington!
Our team is not resting on its laurels. Today we continue our work of growing our grassroots team. If you haven’t signed up to volunteer for our campaign please make the time to do that now. Also, I ask you to reach out to friends and family and ask them to join our effort. Let them know that our goal is to continue to work to restore conservative principles to our great nation and to work with focus and discipline to solve the problems that concern you – getting Tennesseans back to work, taming the out of control spending and record deficits of the liberal Democrats, securing our borders and repealing Obamacare.
Again, thank you for everything you have done for me. Now let’s get back to work.
